About this course

Most sales training teaches persuasion techniques that stopped working two decades ago and that decent people refuse to use anyway. This teaches the alternative that actually outperforms them: find out whether you can genuinely help, and if you cannot, say so quickly.

It is written for the tradesperson quoting a job, the agency owner filling places, the freelancer who is excellent at the work and uncomfortable asking for money. Not for a sales floor with a gong.

It also covers the law, because UK selling is regulated and small businesses breach the pricing and urgency rules constantly without knowing they exist.

What you will be able to do

  • Run a discovery conversation that surfaces the real problem and the real cost of inaction
  • Qualify out quickly and redirect your time to opportunities that exist
  • Tell four kinds of objection apart and respond to each correctly
  • Hold a price without discounting reflexively
  • Stay within UK consumer protection and pricing law

Questions

Is this business to business or consumer selling?

Both. Discovery and objection handling are the same in each. The legal section covers consumer selling specifically, because that is where the strict rules and the common breaches are.

Does it teach closing techniques?

Deliberately not. Almost all closing theatre exists to help people who are uncomfortable asking. If discovery was done properly, asking plainly outperforms every technique, and it does not make you feel like somebody you would not want to buy from.
