About this course

Most project management training teaches a methodology and an exam. Most project failure has nothing to do with methodology. It comes from scope nobody agreed, estimates nobody believed, and a status report that said amber for four months before it said red.

This course is for the accidental project manager: the person who was good at their job and is now running a project, without a certification and without much support.

What you will be able to do

  • Define scope so that change is visible rather than absorbed
  • Estimate in ranges and explain why a single number is a lie
  • Run a status report that surfaces problems early
  • Escalate before it becomes a crisis, and say no constructively

Modules

  1. 1 Scope, estimates and the amber that lasted four months 45 min study · 4 min script · 4 question knowledge check
  2. 2 Risk, dependencies and the people problem 40 min study · 4 min script · 4 question knowledge check

Assessment and certificate

A knowledge check and a final assessment at 80 per cent, unlimited attempts.

A free digital certificate with a verification code and 2 CPD hours. It is not a PRINCE2, APM or PMI certification and is not affiliated with any of them.

Questions

Is this PRINCE2 or APM training?

No, and it is not affiliated with either. Those are certifications with their own syllabuses and exams. This teaches the practice underneath them, which is what certified project managers still get wrong.
